CDN Trust has a process where by they approve counsellors who can draw from the fund. If an approved counsellor has a child or young person that is in need of some financial assistance, the approved counsellor will apply to Hope for the Children for the number of sessions they require. Only approved counsellors are allowed to access the funding for the children.

    Hope for the Children is a fundraising initiative that encourages people to contribute towards counselling for children and young people for whom the cost of counselling may be a barrier. It is important to see children and young people recognise their potential and we believe counselling is one way of contributing to this outcome. Our approved counsellors work towards helping children and young people build upon their strengths so they can overcome the challenges they face in todays world.

  • Who is CDN?

    CDN (Community Development Network Trust) has been working with children and young people for over 20 years in Christchurch. They do school-based youthwork, run holiday programs for kids and also teen camps. They are a respected not-for-profit trust in Christchurch and have a real passion to see people's lives impacted. CDN Trust are proud to host the Hope for the Children fund.

  • How quickly are funding applications processed?

    Hope for the Children strives to respond promptly to the counselling needs of children and young people. We respond to funding applications within 7 days because we trust our counsellors to identify that the children and young people meet our criteria.
